Bro. Roger just returned from a Mission Trip to Mexico. We are anxiously waiting to talk with him about the trip and thank God for the work that is being done. We will be doing a Blanket Drive and a Coat Drive before Winter. Also, if you have any good used clothing it would be appreciated very much. Sunday, May 16th, we had Members Day at church along with a welcome dinner for Bro. Roger and Sis. Leslie. We had a great time and good food.
We will be attending a Youth Leadership Retreat at Camp Oxford on May 21st. and 22nd. Bro. Laren Evetts from Mt. Moriah has been working hard to get us all the information he can. The Bible tells us to train up a child in the way he should go and this will help us be more effective in our efforts.
If you are in the market for some fresh baked goods without heating up your kitchen for your Memorial Day Picnic our Youth Group will be having a Bake Sale and Car Wash May 29th at the Harrisburg WalMart. We have some really fine cooks here at Emmanuel so you won't be dissapointed. While you're there we'll wash you car and have it ready for Sunday morning. Our Youth are raising funds for some Summer activities and a Mission Trip to Mexico next Summer with Bro. Roger.
We are going visiting in our community on Tuesday nights and we are being blessed by the people we meet. We have seen new faces in our congregation and are looking forward to seeing more come in. The first time you come to Emmanuel you may be a visitor but, after that you're just part of the family.
If you are thinking about a gift for Father's Day we have a great suggestion. We will be having a Car Wash on the Dairy Queen parking area in Eldorado Saturday, June 19th. Take Dad to lunch in the Dairy Queen while we clean up his car.
